Me!

Hi!

I'm Stefanie.

I have always had a gigantic imagination. When I was little, I would tell myself stories out loud, all the time. A lot of people thought I was talking to myself (or other voices in my head) and I am sure that my parents were worried that I was going to turn out to be a crazy person, so I learned at a young age to keep them inside my head. Over 20 years later, I haven't stopped making up stories. My brain is a scary, but fascinating place to live, and luckily it makes it easy to do what I love: writing. I know that making stuff up for a living may not be the most honorable job (compared to a doctor, or nurse,  or someone that saves lives and stuff), but it's what I'm best at. And I recycle, if that counts for anything. It should.

To people like me, books are one of the most important things in life. Life can be unbelievably tough sometimes, and being able to escape into another world through the words that other people write has always been a very important part of my sanity. I love to read as much as I love to write, and I am so blessed that I was given the gift of a vast imagination. It makes reality a little easier to handle!

I hope that someday I am able to share my stories with the world. I am working hard to do that!

So, about me!

I am a southern girl--born and raised in Alabama--so I love grits, sweet tea, and moonpies, and I say "ya'll" way too often. I laugh a lot and I am the queen of "that's what she said" jokes.

I am pursuing a dual bachelor's degree in both Creative Writing and Psychology, and I work full-time at a bank doing a multitude of monetary things. So I never get bored, that's for sure! I somehow still find the time to binge watch shows on Netflix, read mountains of books, and go on weekend adventures with my boyfriend.

I was a member of The Fiction Femme Fatale, where three other awesome authors (Amy Christine Parker, Jennifer Baker, and Krystalyn Drown) and I posted weekly 1000 word stories based on a photo. We had to stop posting to due to our busy schedules, but we'd love for you to visit our site and read our past stories!

Other random things about me:
    • My family is made up of some of the most wonderful, caring, entertaining, hilarious, loving, talented people in the world. Seriously, I have the best family you could ask for.
    • I can't get a tan. At all. Not kidding.
    • I sing (and write songs occasionally), but just for fun.
    • I doodle and paint, though I am not an expert by any means. I have, however, painted a giant, couch-sized replica of Van Gogh's Starry Night, which is my favorite painting. I got to see the original one at the MOMA in NYC, and I almost cried. Vincent Van Gogh TOUCHED THIS.

Still with me? Cool! I wish I could give you cupcakes.
